More Than a Pet Sitter

Building relationships, one pet at a time.

Kashie's Korner owner Lexi with Kashie, the dog who inspired the Las Vegas pet care business.

Hi, I’m Lexi!

I was born and raised right here in Las Vegas, and animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Growing up, Animal Planet was my favorite channel, Steve Irwin was my hero, and I was absolutely convinced I was going to become either a veterinarian or an animal cop when I grew up. Our home was always full of animals dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, rats, and even a few reptiles.

If it had fur, feathers, or four legs, I was probably trying to bring it home. 🐾

Today, I live in Summerlin with my wife, our two children, and our pups. While I work full-time at Harry Reid International Airport, animals have always remained one of the biggest passions in my life.

I began professionally pet sitting in 2020, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to care for pets with all kinds of personalities, routines, ages, and needs. What started as something I genuinely loved doing eventually grew into something bigger.

Kashie’s Korner was born from that passion and from the belief that pet care should feel personal.

I wanted to create a service where pet parents know the person caring for their animals, where communication matters, and where every pet is treated as an individual rather than just another reservation on a calendar.

The Family Behind the Korner Pack

Around here, loving animals is a family thing.

Kashie’s Korner may have started with my love for animals and the bond I share with Kashie, but my family has been a huge part of helping me turn that passion into something real. My wife has been beside me through every stage of building this business, the million ideas, paperwork, planning, late nights, endless website changes, and all the moments when I’ve wondered if I could actually pull this off. She’s been the person encouraging me when I’m overwhelmed and reminding me why I started in the first place. And now, getting to build something centered around animals while raising our girls makes it even more meaningful. As a mom, it’s important to me that they grow up understanding that loving animals is about more than thinking they’re cute. It means respecting their boundaries, recognizing that every animal has different needs, and showing up for the everyday responsibilities that come with caring for them (even the not so fun ones). Whether it’s dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, or whatever random creature they inevitably decide we absolutely need, I hope they grow up with the same compassion for animals that has shaped so much of my own life. Having a family that believes in what I’m building and getting to share that love for animals with them is a pretty special part of the Korner Pack, too.

🐾 Meet the Inspiration Behind the Brand

Kashie is the reason Kashie’s Korner exists.

After losing my childhood dog, Brewski, to cancer following sixteen incredible years together, I wasn’t sure another dog could ever fill that space in my heart.

Then Kashie came into my life.

She arrived during one of the hardest transitional periods I’ve experienced in my life and quickly became my constant companion. From hiking and paddle boarding to snowboarding trips and everyday adventures, she has been by my side through it all.

Kashie is my soul dog, my adventure partner, and the inspiration behind everything this business stands for. Her impact on my life is the reason I wanted to create a company centered around connection, trust, and building meaningful relationships with the animals in my care.

🐾 The Pack Behind the Passion

Alongside Kashie is Koda, my senior shepherd mix and one of my greatest teachers.

Koda came into my life in 2015 when he was only three months old. He came from an abusive household and carried a deep fear of men, loud noises, and unfamiliar environments.

Over the years, we worked through those fears together. Watching him slowly learn to trust taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of meeting an animal where they are emotionally. Sometimes the most important thing we can give an animal is patience, consistency, and the freedom to feel safe.

Today, Koda enjoys a much quieter life at home, but the lessons he taught me have stayed with me and they influence the way I approach every animal in my care.

From Animal Lover to Professional Pet Care Provider

It started with a love for animals. The experience came one pet at a time.

Loving animals has always been the easy part for me. Learning how differently each one needs to be cared for is something that came with time, experience, and a whole lot of animals.

When I started professionally pet sitting in 2020, I already had years of experience caring for my own pets, but working with other people's animals opened up an entirely different world. Every household had its own routine, every pet had their own personality, and I quickly learned that what works perfectly for one animal may not work at all for the next.

Since then, I’ve cared for everything from energetic puppies who seem to have absolutely no off switch to senior pets who prefer life a little slower. I’ve worked with nervous and reactive dogs, multi-pet households, cats with very strong opinions, pets who need medications, and plenty of animals with their own quirks, routines, and ideas about how things should be done.

And honestly, that variety is one of my favorite parts of pet care.

Some pets want to be your best friend five minutes after you walk through the door. Others need you to sit across the room and mind your business for a while before they decide you might be acceptable. 😂 Both are perfectly fine with me.

Over the years, experience has taught me when to encourage, when to slow down, when to change the plan, and when to simply let an animal tell me what they need.

I also know there will always be more to learn. I maintain my Pet CPR & First Aid certification, carry professional pet care insurance, and continue learning about animal behavior, safety, enrichment, and care because loving animals is important but being prepared to care for someone else's is just as important.

Why Kashie’s Korner?

Hand-drawn mountain and ever green tree graphic representing outdoor dog adventures.

Because pet care should feel personal.

Over the years, I’ve heard so many stories from pet parents who struggled to find someone they truly trusted with their animals. Sometimes the care felt rushed. Sometimes communication was inconsistent. And sometimes it simply felt like their pet was another name on someone’s schedule.

That was never the kind of pet care I wanted to provide.

When I created Kashie’s Korner, I wanted to build something more personal, where you actually know the person walking through your front door, where I know your pets by more than just their names, and where you never have to wonder whether they’re getting the same love and attention I’d want for my own.

I don’t want to just show up, complete a visit, and move on to the next one. I want to learn that your dog refuses to poop unless we take that one specific route, that your cat absolutely does not appreciate being picked up but will happily follow me around the house, or that the treat has to be broken into exactly three pieces because apparently those are the rules. 😂

Those little things matter. They’re what make your pet your pet.

Kashie’s Korner was built around creating real relationships with both pets and their people. My goal is for you to leave knowing your animals are with someone who knows them, cares about them, and genuinely looks forward to seeing them again.
